It IS About YOU!

It seems that every time I pick up a book these days somewhere in it is the phrase "It's not about you." Referring to God and how it He is supposed to be worshiped, glorified, etc. And how we are not to be selfish and think life is ALL about us all the time. I get it. Authors try and make us think the opposite of what the world is trying to teach us. And succeeding, I might add. But, every time I read or here this phrase I get a check in my spirit. It's a small one, but nonetheless, it's there. So I decided to dig in and think deeply about the subject.

I've come to this conclusion: IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU! Yep, that's right, completely the opposite, I know. There is a reason God calls us THE BRIDE. I've never been to a wedding where it wasn't ALL about the bride. Everyone waits anxiously for her to walk down the aisle. It's about how beautiful she looks, her dress, her smile.

God is also preparing a place for us...for US! Why would He do that if it's not about us? Why would He send His Son to die? Why would he create such a beautiful place for us to live, love, and learn? Because He loves us...so, see it IS about you and me. He needs us just like we need him.

The phrase "It's not about you" is doom and gloom to me. It says, you are not important, you mean nothing, you have no purpose. So why get up in the morning? When you decide in your heart that it is about you. Wow! You've got things to do...things to be accomplished, started, and finished! It's my job to be the BRIDE! What a calling....how unbelievably important!

Of course,when you are the Bride, all you want to do is look into the Bridegroom's eyes and think, "Wow, it's all about HIM."
